It's still around, which is good! All-in-all it's a pretty decent public library.

Librarians are helpful in finding your books, you just have to know what you're looking for! Check out the DVD collection too.

The upstairs young adult/adult section, on the second floor is open and spacious, with comfy chairs, and combination table and chairs dispersed throughout the setting. The young adult/adult section houses a wealth of information in the form of fiction and non-fiction books, newspapers, magazines, audiovisual resources, and a computer lab. Both the downstairs and upstairs areas offer a spectacular view of Lake Michigan from the libraries east bay windows. Throughout the calendar year activities/programs are offered for juveniles, families, young adults and adults. The library is opened six days per week, with a bookmobile traveling throughout the city to provide library services throughout the week. The library is staffed with librarians and staff members who are knowledgeable, courteous and do an excellent job of maintaining the facility.

The Racine Public Library is a facility designed in the Frank Lloyd Wright style of architecture and is located on the Main Street, of the “Belle City” aka the “beautiful city” along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

The library’s juvenile, young adult and adult sections are a wealth of information. The juvenile section contains a generous selection of fiction and non-fiction books, learning toys, educational computer discs, magazines, audiovisual, computer lab and parental resources. Age appropriate activities for the juvenile audience are offered several times throughout the week. The décor and atmosphere are conducive to quiet play and reading.
