Words can not accurately portray how upset I am that the INSANE storage costs were not discussed up front. Since it is through my employer, I have no contract with them. No opportunity to read the fine print, and no recourse because I'd have to go through my employer to challenge the fees.
Anyway, I'd suggest you keep searching. I feel like I have been robbed by this company.
Recommend a company that does what they promise and stand behind their work. This company would not fix that. This was a corp Relocation.
They also overcharged for the move in my opinion, but the company pays for that. I moved from DE to FL so the sense in bringing everything to WI escapes me. Strange business plan. IMO.
I cant believe how they treat people, I had 2 pipes burst in my home and I needed movers to come pack my stuff and store it, As if I wasent going through enough Dave their sales agent is the most rudest man ive ever came across in sales customer service. I was running late so I called the office and gave them 30 minutes notice as I was in transit, DAVE calls me and is very rude about me being late as if I didnt give him notice, I tell him Im almost there and he ends up eaving 2 minutes before I arrive, no phone call to reschudle, nothing, I try and call him he doenst answer. I call the office and they do nothing, I call back again finally they transfer me to DAVE and he is rude he said I made him wait for 45 minutes, mind you are appointment was for 8:30 I arrive at 9am, as if I wasent going through enough, he asked me what are you doing calling to tell on me, no apoligy nothing. I couldnt believe it. Never have I experienced such horrible Customer service. The manager I spoke with didnt really seem to care. I heard they were really only into corporate moves but geeezzz WOW!!! Very sad
Well, I'm currently sitting outside my $350/month climate controlled storage unit waiting for them to come drop it off.
I used Merchant Movers as part of a relocation through work. I knew going in that I would need storage past the 60 days paid for by the company, but I wasn't quite prepared for the bill (which fortunately I asked them to provide before they hit me with it). They were going to charge me $1635/month for storage. I called to make sure that it wasn't a typo error. That's right. I was told they are "a little more expensive than other moving companies in the area." Despite multiple requests, I never got a call from the supervisor. I was hoping we could negotiate something so I wasn't forced to move my stuff into storage and then have to move it into my new home myself.
Horrible, they treat there employees like crap, I worked there for almost a month and was getting good reviews from my coworkers and then out of the blue I was let go without getting a legitimate reason why and the supervisor who let me go was acting very rude and was implying that I had done something wrong, when I tried to push for a legitimate reason I was still refused
By far the best experience with movers we have ever had! This company is professional and knows how to get the job done in a quick, efficient and safe manor. We highly recommend Merchants to anyone looking to do a move!
The guys who moved me out were great. It's too bad I cant leave them a good review because they deserve one.
